Efficiency Evaluation and Optimization Strategy of Campus Parking Areas Based on Arena Simulation
Publication: CICTP 2020
ABSTRACT
Parking areas in the university are more decentralized than social parking lots. Their links in different parking regions are stronger at Chinese University, but the utilization rate is unbalanced, resulting in a greater waste of parking resources. In this paper, a simulation model of campus multi-parking areas is built based on Arena software. With the combination of subjective (AHP) and objective (entropy weight) weighting method, the comprehensive efficiency evaluation model is established to determine the optimization strategy of the campus parking system. The inefficiency of the campus parking system was found to be affected by long searching time, unbalanced utilization ratio, and long parking time. The predicted benefits of taking inducement measures increase by 26%, and those of more parking lots measures increase by 7%. This paper is of great significance for how to simulate the distributed parking lot in campus, evaluate its operation efficiency, and select optimization strategy.
