ABSTRACT
With the increase in car ownership levels, the environmental pollution caused by waste tires has become a growing serious problem. Adding rubber powder from waste tires into asphalt not only can reduce pollution but can also improve the performance of the pavement. In this study, 5%, 10%, and 15% crumb rubber modified asphalt and 90# asphalt were made to evaluate their high-temperature performance. TFOT and PAV aging were used to simulate the short-and long-term aging of asphalt. The test results show that the crumb rubber modified asphalt has a better high-temperature performance than the 90# asphalt. Further, with increasing the content of rubber powder, the high-temperature performance improves. Compared with the rubber modified asphalt, the 90# asphalt is more sensitive to aging. The results of evaluating high-temperature performance of asphalt by complex modulus, phase angle, rutting parameter, Jnr and R% are consistent.
