ABSTRACT
Based on the investigation of the parking situation in the downtown area of Weihai, the parking lot index of building in Weihai is developed. The functional partition of the city is defined according to the requirements of China’s urban parking planning specification. Meanwhile, the standard of building parking space adapted to different areas, the types of buildings and the detailed classification under various types are determined. On the basis of those, a parking demand prediction model is established. For the location influence coefficient in the model, a computable model is developed to quantify the location influence coefficient by introducing the location advantage degree. In addition, based on the modeling results, solutions to existing parking problems, including improving the parking index of building, determining the supply strategy to adjust the index value, and analyzing the feasibility of the new index, are discussed in the paper.
