Shear Stress Analysis of Asphalt Overlay on Old Concrete Pavement Considering Horizontal Load
Publication: Transportation Research Congress 2017: Sustainable, Smart, and Resilient Transportation
ABSTRACT
At present, when asphalt overlay on old concrete pavement is analyzed and studied, the horizontal load caused by the vehicle running is neglected. In this paper, three-dimensional finite element software is used to calculate the shear stress of the asphalt overlay on the old concrete pavement considering the horizontal load. The influence of load position, stress absorption layer, and horizontal load factor on the variation of maximum shear stress and shear stress component is analyzed.
