Study on Oversized Precast Pile Construction in Soft Soil Foundation Pit
Publication: CICTP 2019
Abstract
Precast piles are widely used in Southeast China’s coastal area for its high bearing capacity, simple construction, and predictability. This paper presents the oversized precast piles sinking in a soft soil foundation pit in Lianyungang. The piles equipped with pile tips were driven by a diesel engine into the drilled holes. In-situ monitors were used to control the procedure, and the monitoring data proved that displacement and settlement of the foundation pit both did not reach the warning values and could meet the design requirements. This analysis shows reliability of pile sinking and it can provide models and references for the construction and reinforcement of soft soil foundation pit.
