Study on Integrated Design Method of Transport and Land Use for Junction Center Station of Urban Rail Transit

Publication: CICTP 2019

Abstract

This article has established a multi-objective programming model based on the theory of transit oriented development (TOD), which provides a research direction for the integrated design of transport and land use in a junction center station of urban rail transit. Four objectives of TOD model are determined: maximizing rail transit ridership, optimizing environmental quality, maximizing the land coordination degree, and maximizing land mixed use degree. The decision variables are land use type and land use density while the constraints include restrictions on land use type, land use density, and the total area of land development around the station. Furthermore, genetic algorithm is utilized to solve the multi-objective model in the case of Xuchang Dong railway station. It demonstrates that planning scheme based on TOD model ensures the balance between transport demand and transport supply and is superior to the existing scheme after the analysis of differences between them.
