Abstract
In the process of planning, construction, and operation management of rail transit, the traffic demand characteristics of rail stations need to be identified, so as to better enhance the efficiency of public transport operations. This paper makes use of the smart card dataset to excavate the characteristics of bus transfer to the metro, and then several variables are extracted. The factor analysis method and the K-means clustering method are introduced to reduce the dimensionality of selected variables and classify the case sites. The results show that this method provides a simple quantitative analysis method for rail site classification.
