Smart Water Technology in Theory and Practice: A Californian Case Study on Pressure Transient

Abstract

Sophisticated smart water technologies are changing the way water networks are monitored and controlled. Smart water solutions improve the efficiency, longevity, and reliability of a utility’s underlying physical assets by better measuring, collecting, analysing, and acting upon a wide range of network events. By generating knowledge, a utility can address some of its largest challenges such as leakage, energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer service. Syrinix and several Californian utilities carried out research into transients and their effects and this abstract details some of the key findings from the studies.
