Abstract
This introduction presents the key concepts of this book, which deals with aspects of sustainable water resources. It covers data collection and processing and hydrological modeling, which are the steps to attain water resource sustainability. The book also elaborates some hydrological modeling techniques and discusses the impacts of climate change and changing land use patterns on the hydrological cycle. It then incorporates groundwater modeling and sustainability along with groundwater pollution and its remedies. The book highlights aspects of urban water management and mitigating strategies for droughts and floods along with case studies and covers optimum use of irrigation water and aspects of water re-use. Finally, the book summarizes global water resources and various aspects of issues related to sustainable water resources management.
