Abstract
It is inevitable for most long-distance oil pipelines to encounter underground obstacles when tunneling through a complex and changing geological environment. The growing maturity of trenchless technology has gradually overcome most pipeline construction problems. However, one weak area is the failure of the elbow segment due to its inability to meet strength requirements. Additionally, structural design of trenchless technology tunnels depends only on empirical parameters, while stress analysis of pipelines is generally overlooked. This paper establishes a pipeline stress analysis model with CAESAR II software. The model covers pipeline stress distribution, the stress problems' key points, and the pipeline's strength. The model will provide guidance for tunnel construction engineers wanting to design stronger pipelines through pipeline stress distribution analysis.
