Analytical Solutions for the Suspended Sediment Transport in Channel with Arbitrary Velocity and Eddy Viscosity Distributions
Publication: World Environmental and Water Resources Congress 2013: Showcasing the Future
Abstract
This paper presents a new analytical approach for the solutions of suspended sediment transport in channels using generalized integral transform technique (GITT). Compared with previous work, this new analytical solution approach takes into account the arbitrary distribution of turbulence eddy viscosity and the boundary conditions at the free surface and the bed. After developing the solution using GITT technique, we also present a library of analytical solutions for suspended sediment concentration considering the effects of different eddy viscosity distributions, vertical variations of mean flow distribution, bottom boundary conditions, etc. Finally, the results from this analytical solution are compared with numerical simulations.
