Authors: Matthew P. Carlton [email protected] and Carl J. "Chuck" Larosche [email protected]Author Affiliations
Publication: Structures Congress 2010
Abstract
This paper outlines the circumstances in which load testing is advantageous and describes various methods for load testing different types of structures, including reinforced concrete systems and those with composite strengthening. The authors discuss testing approaches and methods, use of load testing to evaluate repairs, and specific conditions and challenges encountered during load testing of specific projects, as well as research into new load testing methods. Both simple and sophisticated load testing methods, including static and cyclic loading, will be discussed.
