Abstract
Recently, a construction method for installing a precast pile nearby an existing driven pile has been developed considering the drainage of buried soil excluding the embedded soil of the ground. This type of displacement pile may affect the behavior of the surrounding ground. This study examines the influence of the displacement pile on the behavior of the surrounding ground with axisymmetric elastoplastic finite element analysis. In the analysis, increment of volumetric strain is applied to simulate the construction of the displacement pile. The behaviors of the ground consisting different types of soil characteristics such as cohesive soils, sandy soils and mixing of different soils are discussed.
