Abstract
Vibration damping measure with rubber buffers is proposed for the first time to be applied to the vibration control of large-scale bulb tubular pump-house in eastern route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project. Bouc-Wen hysteretic model is applied to simulate the hysteretic characteristics of the rubber buffer. With simulation analysis based on SIMULINK of MATLAB, the number and arrangement of rubber buffers are determined. After design of vibration damping, nonlinear dynamic time-history analysis of pump-house of Huaiyin third pumping station is done by using three-dimensional finite element method. Dynamic responses of pump-house of whether or not adopting rubber buffers are compared and from the results it can be found that dynamic responses of pump-house reduce obviously after adopting the vibration damping measure. The vibration responses reduce by over 50%. This conclusion indicates that vibration damping with rubber buffers is feasible, which is very important to anti-vibration design of bulb tubular pump-house.
