An Improved Generalized Projection Denoising Algorithm and Its Application

Publication: Earth and Space 2010: Engineering, Science, Construction, and Operations in Challenging Environments

Abstract

Noise reduction is a main step in signal processing. However, it is not effective enough to purify the nonlinear signal by using the traditional signal denoising techniques. This paper improved the Generalized Projection denoising algorithm via calculating the optimal time delay τ and embedding dimension m, which can be regarded as an extension of the global phase space reconstruction. The de-noising effects of Lorenz signal illustrated the improved Generalized Projection method is very effective and reliable in reducing the noise and reconstructing the signals.
