Prediction and Evaluation for Leakage Pollution of Hazardous Liquid from Underground Pipeline

Abstract

As toxic industrial waste water or other liquids is discharging or transporting by pipeline, due to pipeline corrosion damage or other external force action, the leaking liquid can pollute the soil, groundwater or the surrounding environment to a certain extent. The possible leakage forms and characteristics (geometrical features, the source concentration, etc.) of pollution sources in leakage zone are discussed and analyzed in this paper. In order to analyze the changing rule of the concentration of poisonous substances and the range of dispersion halo after the leakage in time and space, the planar seepage flow equation is set up and typical medium geotechnical parameters is selected for computer simulation to pipeline leakage pollution. The simulated results coincide with the reflected general law of pipeline leakage detection. This research achievement can provide a related scientific basis to the current pipeline leakage detection, the risk assessment of pipe leakage and the groundwater environmental assessment.
