Abstract
Two three-story unstiffened ductile steel plate shear walls were tested under cyclic loading. The shear walls had two types of beam-to-column connections consisting of rigid (SPSW-R) and simple (SPSW-S). Low and high strengths steel were used in the plates of panels and boundary frames, respectively. Both specimens endured many cycles of loading most of which were in the inelastic range. They showed excellent ductility and energy dissipation characteristics and exhibited stable behavior at very large deformations.
