Abstract
According to the present economic condition of our country, it is difficult to lay out stations of traffic-information obtaining on all sections of the roadway network. The scientific method should be used by choosing some sections that have priorities. The cluster analysis method is applied to evaluate the importance of all sections of the road network, determine the cluster index of the more important sections, make stepwise regression by using the traffic volume data of congener highway sections over the years. Thus the laying out scheme for traffic-information obtaining stations is acquired.
