Study on Mechanical Characteristic of Subgrade under More Loads
Publication: Logistics: The Emerging Frontiers of Transportation and Development in China
Abstract
Pavement is an important part for transportation and logistics infrastructure, the quality of subgrade will affect the quality of pavement and even result in pavement damages. Mechanical characteristic of subgrade is indeterminate because of complex loads, so it is very important to study the mechanical characteristic of subgrade. In this paper, the loading model of the static load and dynamic load being acted at the same time was established according to the superposition theory. The concepts, combinatorial load, combinational stress and combinational deformation, were put forward. The results show that the combinatorial stress and the combinatorial deformation were equal to the addition of the stress and the deformation under single load, with nonlinear decrease with the increasing amount of the depth; the combinatorial stress and the combinatorial deformation decrease with the curve tendency of normal distribution with the width of subgrade. In conclusion, these results are instructive for the design, construction, use, maintenance of layer subgrade.
