Investigation and Analysis on Over Height Condition of the Gravity Center for Loaded Goods Car of China Railway
Publication: Logistics: The Emerging Frontiers of Transportation and Development in China
Abstract
In order to gain knowledge of over height condition of the gravity center for loaded freight car of China railway, a wide range of investigations are done. This paper designs the content and method of investigations of the height of gravity center for loaded goods car, and gives an introduction of the results of investigations. Through some calculations and analysis, this paper concludes that, when loaded goods such as log, oil, gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil, heavy oil, wheat bran, beans husk, chaff and bulk grains, the height of gravity center for some loaded goods cars including open car, tank car, box car, flat car and grain car, will be over 2 m, and the highest will reach 2.3m. These goods hold a ratio of at least 6% in the national railway general traffic volume. There are at least 6 thousand freight cars with over 2m height of gravity center running on lines safely without speed restrictions every day. These practical testimony and data strongly prove the possibility and necessity of raising the height standard of gravity center for loaded goods car.
