Development of Road Information Acquisition System Based On Image Processing
Publication: Logistics: The Emerging Frontiers of Transportation and Development in China
Abstract
Image processing technology is the primary means of achieving highway facilities information acquisition. This paper uses machine vision to establish the Highway Facilities Information Collection System which consists of Forward Road Image Acquisition Subsystem, Road Image Acquisition Subsystem and Control Subsystem. The Forward Road Image Acquisition Subsystem consists of a high-resolution digital camera and a 3CCD video recorder, image acquisition card and so on. The Control System gathers and stores the forward road video and images according to defined time or defined distance. The Road Image Acquisition System which consists of line scan camera, image acquisition machine, auxiliary lighting system and so on, gathers the road images of one lane every four meters by the car at a speed of 72 km/h, and real-time compresses and stores the image into the computers which are equipped in the car. The experiment shows that the system can achieve automatic information acquisition of highway facilities images.
