Direct Drive Volume Control of Electric-Hydraulic Servo System and its Application in Active Mass Driver (AMD) Systems

Abstract
Due to the shortcoming of traditional Active Mass Driver system, an innovative structural control system, direct drive active mass damper control system was put forward. The construction, characteristics and controlling principle of Direct Drive Volume Control of elector-hydraulic servo system are presented. Based on the theory of electro mechanics and fluid dynamics, theoretical models of the rotational number-mechanical relationship of the direct drive AMD system were developed which utilize the values of rotational number to predict active control force by the system. The state equation of direct drive AMD control system was put forward further. As the example with two lumped-mass structures with direct drive AMD control system at the top were simulated and studied. The result indicates that direct drive AMD control system can effectively control the seismic response of the structure.
