Study of the Dynamic Stability and Active Control Experiment

Abstract

The research of dynamic stability involve some subjects, and was developed recent decades. It is very complex of its instability mechanization because of it is a nonlinear differential equation, so it has not achieve a uniform view. Teeming with large-span and complex structure, the dynamic characteristics of the structure gain more and more attention from scientific researchers and designers, the traditional design method which resist external load by increase cross-section area shows it's too simplistic and unreasonable. The birth of intelligent structure give a new way of the active control for the dynamic instability, in this paper, based on a three-storey smart framework struc- ture, the optimized design of the piezoelectric intelligent control equation is deduced, and give the optimal position when piezoelectric stack has the greatest efforts. After finite element equation of piezoelectric active control for dynamic instability given, a ingenious transform is used to solution active control dynamic instability region. A correspond experimental is taken, study and analysis, it show that the piezoelectric smart control of structure dynamic instability is evident, the largest ratio of active control on acceleration could induced achieved 27%, and on the displacement could induced achieve 24%, and the dynamic instability regional reduced significantly. At last, release the task of next step, all the work is helpful for practical design and useful for the further research.
