Physics Fractal of Time Distribution on Landslides of Chongqing in the Three Gorges Region, China

Abstract
The equality distribution, Poisson distribution and fractal distribution were calculated for the data about the time distribution of landslides in the Three Gorges Region. The fractal of landslides was shown in the narrow spectrum near the natural cycle. According to different size ranks, the approach of physics fractal was proposed to divide the landslides into 6 subsets and study their dimensions (D), scale spectrums, and natural cycles. They indicated the similarity and hierarchy of landslide occurrence in the fractal. The scale spectrums for whole landslides were 2.7–4.2 and for size ranks were 1.98–5.84.
