Field Application of Sewer Electro-Scan in Large Pipe Condition Assessment

Publication: Pipelines 2006: Service to the Owner

Abstract

The use of condition assessment tools to help prioritize pipeline rehabilitation needs has continued to grow. New tools and techniques that provide uniform, consistent results are needed to address the overwhelming backlog of pipelines that are nearing their useful service life. Sewer electro-scan is one technology that provides some promise in meeting these needs. This paper presents insights into the use of sewer electro-scan for large, gravity sewer applications.
