Abstract
This paper presents water retention data of a nonwoven polyester geotextile obtained from a controlled flow capillary cell. The results were evaluated and compared to conventional hanging column test results. A good correlation was found between the two test methods. The hydraulic properties of the geotextile were determined by inverse modeling using the modified van Genuchten equations. The modified van Genuchten model was found to be in close agreement with the experimental data.
