Modeling of Harbor Resonance in Port of Long Beach

Publication: Civil Engineering in the Oceans VI

Abstract

Landfills at Piers E, G, and J have been proposed as part of the Port of Long Beach's (POLB) Terminal Development Program. Both physical and numerical models of these configurations were tested and compared to evaluate optimum or preferred configurations based on harbor resonance, berth size, landfill area, and land transportation logistics.
