Using Fuzzy Set Theory on the Pollutant Transport Modeling to Study Water Quality in Natural Rivers
Publication: Managing Watersheds for Human and Natural Impacts: Engineering, Ecological, and Economic Challenges
Abstract
This research applies the fuzzy set theory on the transport of pollutant modeling, to find out uncertainties, presents in water quality analysis. The studying solves the advection diffusion equation, using the fuzzy set theory, defining membership functions, which will represent the concentration profile of the pollutant, in natural rivers. The results have shown that the fuzzy set theory could be a useful methodology to evaluate uncertainties, and to predict engineering risk analysis, concerning with environmental water quality problem.
