Integrated Watershed Management in Chi-Tou Forest Ecological Area

Abstract

Chi-Tou Forest Recreation Area (FRA) was one of the best forest recreation areas in the past. Due to the natural disaster, we need to find out the new direction of Chi-Tou for future. The purpose of this paper was to point the guidelines for the future development consideration under the concept of integrated watershed management. Firstly, the concept of ecology should be considered in the engineering constructure. Next, in order to maintain the healthy forest, the concept of ecosystem management should be implemented. Thirdly, natural educational functions have be enhanced. Finally, combine the local community to develop the ecotourism program.
