Abstract
CCHE1D is a 1-D model of flow and sediment transport in channel networks. The model has been validated against a number of laboratory and field tests, as well as applied to solve several real-life problems in previous studies. In order to test the applicability of this model in different situations, the CCHE1D model is further verified in this study by using four data sets, which are selected based on their suitability with the model objectives. Two of these data sets are taken from flume studies conducted by Soni and Little and Mayer. The other two are taken from field measurements in the East Fork River and in the Chongqing reach of the Yangtze River. The predicted channel aggradation, degradation and armoring processes are in good agreement with the measurements. The tests and applications have demonstrated that the CCHE1D model has good performance under various flow and sediment conditions.
