Realizing the Potential of Cost Effective Sewer Replacement in Churchill Borough
Publication: Pipelines 2002: Beneath Our Feet: Challenges and Solutions
Abstract
Like many of the sanitary sewer systems in the United States, Churchill Borough had an aging sewer that was in generally poor condition. However, most of the systems in the Churchill's system was laid under and through abandoned mine drainage seeps and discharges. For a construction cost of $88,000, the Borough removed over 70,000 gallons per day of continuous infiltration.
