Abstract
This paper describes how to solve numerical problems of Hydraulic Engineering which involve the calculation of free and forced conduits. The problem is modeled by using the equations of Manning, Hazen-Willians, Darcy-Weisbach (Colebrook-Write) and Kutter (Chezy). To solve these equations we use Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Evolution Strategies (ES). Simulation result shows the feasibility of the obtained solution.
