Abstract
In this paper a concept of team approach for the design of water wells is presented in response to the challenges created by the emergence of a number of problems in the ground water area. Degradation of ground water quality, clogging of well screens, corrosion of pumping equipment, operation and maintenance breakdowns of water wells, and other associated technical measures of water wells need to be addressed in a coherent, professional manner. To develop the concept of team approach appropriately, several topics related to the design of water wells are discussed in detail. As each and every topic under consideration is investigated, concurrently the corresponding design criteria of water wells are utilized to determine the required number of professionals that would constitute the design team as being proposed.
