SWMM Modeling in the New Century

Publication: Building Partnerships

Abstract

Many enhancements have been made to the EPA Storm Water Management Model since the last official EPA release in 1994. These include improvements to the model engine, enhancements to input/output options, and "hooks" for easier interfacing with graphical user interfaces and ancillary software. SWMM is used in hundreds of applications each year in support of management of stormwater runoff, combined sewer overflows, and nonpoint source pollution. The program continues to be supported by an extensive network of users, with opportunity for feedback to code developers and GUI vendors.
