Comparison of Numerical and Physical Model Results: Velocity Distribution on a Well Screen

Publication: Building Partnerships

Abstract

The UND/NDSU physical well model was used to compare the results of published numerical simulations that showed that velocity distributions on a well screen are influenced strongly by pump intake location. The physical model results did not show such an influence; however, the conditions simulated in the numerical model were not identical to those tested in the physical model.
