Abstract
Three different strategies to model dimensionless hyetographs are proposed and discussed. A dimensionless hyetograph represents fractions of cumulated rainfall over time. The storm depth at any time is normalized by storm duration. The three models employ the Beta distribution to reproduce the dimensionless hyetographs. Models 1 and 2 adopt a statistical approach while model 3 is stochastic. They were calibrated and verified over regional dimensionless hyetographs proposed by Pinheiro for the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region (BHMR).
