Review of Models for Flat-bed Sediment-laden Flows
Author: D. A. LynAuthor Affiliations
Publication: Building Partnerships
Abstract
A selective review of models of the velocity and suspended sediment concentration profiles in uniform flow over a flat bed is given. The performance of three well-known models in fitting recently published data from various sources where different velocimetric experimental techniques were used is examined. It is concluded that the models are inadequate, and the features in the mean profiles which cause the models to fail are discussed.
