Abstract
A two-dimensional mathematical model for calculating suspended sediment transport is presented in this paper. The transport equation for suspended sediment is solved using a hybrid finite-analytic technique. The description of bed boundary condition is accomplished using a recently developed entrainment function. The model is systematically tested against a series of analytical solutions, flume experiments and other related numerical results for different flow types and boundary conditions. The comparisons reveal that the model predictions are effective and reasonably accurate.
