Mesa Verde: Paleohydrology of Morefield Reservoir

Abstract
The Morefield mound of Mesa Verde National Park (MVNP), long a park enigma, was proven to have been a water storage reservoir operated by early Americans from A.D. 750 to 1100. The pre-historic inhabitants of Mesa Verde deserve much credit for their ability to construct and maintain a public works project over a 350-year period under harsh conditions.
