Deregulation of the Railway Industry in China

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the railway industry of the United States has achieved great economic success through the process of deregulation of the transportation industry. The paper will first discuss the condition of the US railway industry prior to deregulation, the factors that led first to strong regulation and the crisis, which necessitated deregulation. The paper will then discuss the US railway industry since deregulation. The paper will then make a logical case for deregulation in China and discuss a concept for gradual change.
