Acknowledgments
The author is not aware that use of the average of a set of core test results has ever resulted in a determination of structural capacity that led to a problem or failure. In most determinations, capacity is insensitive to compressive strength of concrete. However, if there was a serious concern about the strength of a column or similar member that is strongly dependent upon in situ compressive strength, it would be advisable to use the methods in ACI 214.4R-03.
