Evaluación, Diseño, e Influencia de Estrategias de Instrucción-Aprendizaje en el Desempeño Académico de los Estudiantes de Ingenieria Civil en la Universidad Industrial de Santander, Colombia

Resumen

Este estudio reconoce la importancia de la interrelación educación-ingeniería-desarrollo en países en vía de desarrollo como Colombia. El artículo expone el diseño y evaluación del curso introductorio a la gerencia en construcción, de la Escuela de Ingeniería Civil de la Universidad Industrial de Santander –Colombia. Los propósitos del estudio fueron mejorar el desempeño de los estudiantes y responder adecuadamente a la formación de los ingenieros que requiere el país, frente a la necesidad de mejorar los índices de desarrollo económico y bienestar social. Abordando una investigación secuencial exploratoria y ceñida a un caso de estudio, nuestra investigación encontró que los ejes temáticos del curso deben ser enseñados de manera integrada, combinando teoría y práctica y haciendo uso de talleres en clase como estrategia de enseñanza. Igualmente, se encontró que los estudiantes de construcción se inclinan por un estilo de aprendizaje concreto y práctico. La evaluación del diseño mostró un nivel de mejoramiento estadísticamente significativo (p<0,05), efectos positivos y menor dispersión en la calificación media del curso en general.
