Regional Water Supply Development in South Sweden

Abstract
The history of the regional water supply system in southernmost Sweden is examined from the perspective of regional public‐works planning and planning under uncertainty. In this case, a history of successful regional water supply projects ended with the apparent failure of a large water supply scheme because of insufficient demand. Some implications of these successes and failures are discussed for the planning of regional water supply and other public works projects.
