Snow Drifts at Roof Steps in Series

Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 131, Issue 10

Abstract

A method is presented for determining snow drifts at roof steps in series. The method is based upon provisions in the current ASCE 7 load standard for snow drifts at a single roof step. It yields a reasonably conservative estimate for the drift at a downwind leeward or windward step.
