Human Error in Structural Design Tasks

Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 115, Issue 7

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of a research program aimed at obtaining basic data about errors committed in some of the tasks that typically occur in structural engineering design. Such information is of interest in attempting to better understand the design process itself and thus in attempts to mathematically model it and to improve it.
