Peer Review Goes Online

Publication: Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
Volume 131, Issue 6
ASCE is pleased to announce the launch of its new online manuscript submission and tracking system, Editorial Manager, for use by the Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering. With Editorial Manager, the worldwide civil engineering community can now submit manuscripts to the Journal via the Web and have the results of their research reviewed online. No longer will authors be required to mail multiple paper copies of their manuscripts to the ASCE Journals Department unless their manuscripts are already being processed via the current paper-based system.
Online submission of all new manuscripts to the Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering is required, effective immediately. Manuscripts arriving via email or postal mail will not be processed; authors will be requested to submit their files online instead. Manuscripts already under review by the Journal will not be transferred to Editorial Manager so ASCE can preserve the manuscripts’ processing history.
Authors are encouraged to log onto the Journal’s welcome page at https://www.editorialmanager.com/jrnireng/ where they can register as users, view the authors’ tutorial, and become familiar with submission requirements and steps they must follow when submitting a manuscript to the Journal.
Over the next two years, all ASCE journals will be gradually transferred to the new online system. Anticipated outcomes of this transfer include accelerated turnaround time, an increased submission rate from the international engineering community, and increased efficiency in the editorial office and in author communications.
The editor and ASCE invite your participation in Editorial Manager and eagerly await your new submissions to the Journal.
