2015 Best Paper Award

The Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering is pleased to announce that the Editorial Board has chosen “Wave propagation into complex coastal systems and the role of nonlinear interactions” by Jacco Groeneweg, Marcel van Gent, Joana van Nieuwkoop, and Yaron Toledo, published in the September 2015 issue (Vol. 141, Iss. 5, 04015003), as the 2015 Best Paper Award winner.
The selection process for the best paper has resulted in three additional finalists being recognized as 2015 Outstanding Papers:
“Optical measurements of tsunami inundation and debris movement in a large-scale wave basin” by M. Rueben, D. Cox, R. Holman, S. Shin, and J. Stanley, published in the January 2015 issue [Vol. 141, No. 1, doi: 10.1061/(ASCE)WW.1943-5460.0000267, 04014029].
“Hydraulic experiments on impact forces from tsunami-driven debris” by H. T.-S. Ko, D. T. Cox, H. R. Riggs, and C. J. Naito, published in the May 2015 issue [Vol. 141, No. 3, doi: 10.1061/(ASCE)WW.1943-5460.0000286, 04014043].
“Simulation and estimation of tsunami loads on bridge superstructures” by Mohsen Azadbakht and Solomon C. Yim, published in the March 2015 issue [Vol. 141, No. 2, doi: 10.1061/(ASCE)WW.1943-5460.0000262, 04014031].
The Best Paper Award and Outstanding Papers are selected annually from all technical papers, technical notes, and case studies published in a calendar year. The Editorial Board congratulates the authors and thanks them for their submissions.
