The authors would like to correct values of the some of the coefficients and values presented in the original paper. These corrections are as follows:
•
In Eq. (5), the coefficient of should be 0.01, if and if when , and if and if when .
•
In Eq. (7), if when .
•
In Table 1, based on a nearby recording for the evaluation of the Sunshine Canyon landfill (LF).
•
In the “Illustrative Example” section, the seismic coefficient corresponding to of seismic slope displacement at the 16% exceedance level is 0.09.
Accordingly, Eq. (5) for estimating for near-fault pulse ground motions is revised to bewhere = normally distributed random variable with zero mean and standard deviation . The coefficient of should be 0.01. When , , , , and if , and , , , and if . When , , , , and if , and , , , and if .
(5)
Eq. (7) for estimating for near-fault pulse ground motions is revised to bewhere = normally distributed random variable with zero mean and standard deviation . When , , , , and if , and , , , and if . If , , , , and if , and , , , and if .
(7)
The results calculated with the procedure in the original paper do not change appreciably when the correct coefficients are used. The original procedure with corrected coefficients is provided in the form of a spreadsheet for use in engineering practice (Bray and Macedo 2020).
