The following correction should be noted.
In Fig. 11, the total unit weight for the backfill (17.5kNm3) was incorrectly used to convert the consolidation stress (kPa) to the depth (m) in the backfill. Because the consolidation stress is an effective stress, the buoyant unit weight (7.7kNm3) should have been used. The corrected Fig. 11 is shown below.
