The Embassy Suites in the heart of Old Market Historic District in Omaha, Nebraska, will be the site of the 2006 Building Integration Solutions Architectural Engineering Conference, to be held from March 30 to April 2, 2006. Sponsored by the Architectural Engineering Institute of ASCE, the event will feature a variety of speaker sessions, panel discussions, and workshops related to the planning, design, and construction of buildings.
Three broad categories of conference topics are planned for the event. The first relates to building development processes, such as planning, programming, multihazard considerations, integration of systems, facilities management, and building automation. Sessions on green buildings∕LEED and building sustainability will also be emphasized. Functions affecting the development process of buildings are presented in the second category, including sessions on codes and standards, quality control, design and regulations impacting the indoor environment, education, and ethics. Topics related to building systems analysis, design, and integration of systems round out the third section of the program. A wide variety of building-related discussions will take place in this category covering issues pertaining to the building envelope and curtain walls, structural and MEP systems design and integration, design and use of new materials and building products, acoustics, communications systems, and the design for all types of building security.
This is one of those unique opportunities for anyone interested in the overall planning, design, and construction of buildings to come together and have access to a wide scope of new and emerging information in one location.
